Race at A Glance

2015 is the 16th year of the SCHEELS Earth Day Run. The run takes participants through the campus of St. Cloud State University. The St. Cloud Subaru 5K brings runners through Lake George and the SCHEELS Half Marathon takes runners along the banks of Mississippi River and through the Beaver Island Trail. Every race finishes at Husky Stadium with spectators on the field and an after party in the Halenbeck Hall Field House.

Post Race Party – Hairball – 8PM

If you are making a weekend of the SCHEELS Earth Day Run festivities, top it off with Hairball in Sartell on Saturday night! Doors open at 7pm with the concert starting at 8pm. All runners will be able to use there bib tag as a $5 off coupon for tickets at the door or a free beverage!

Capital One Packet Pickup

Packet Pickup Friday April 17th, 11:00am – 8:00pm


Location Halenbeck Hall Field House

All runners must pick up their packets during this time in the Halenbeck Fieldhouse.

St. Cloud Subaru 5K Corporate Challenge participant’s team captains will pick up a packet with all team members materials. Team captains must present photo ID for recording purposes. If you are not a team captain, please find yours to collect your race day bib and clothing. Packets are sorted by team name.

Can’t make it Friday?  Use the Proxy Pick-Up Service!
  • Any packet not picked up on Friday night will automatically be transferred to our proxy service, allowing runners to pick up their packet on race day. Reminder, there is NO race day registration.
  • St. Cloud State Huskies student-athletes will have your packet ready for you to pick up Saturday morning well before the race begins. The proxy pick-up service is $5 with all proceeds go to the St. Cloud State University Track and Field and Cross Country teams. Advanced registration for this service is not required.

Please have one form of Identification with you when you pick up your race packet.  You may have your packet picked up by another individual, if you wish.  That person will need to present their own ID in order to claim other individuals registrations.

Capital One Health and Fitness Expo

Local, regional and national vendors will be selling, sampling and showing off the latest products from the world of running & fitness. You’ll find great deals on everything from running shoes to your last minute nutrition needs. Learn about exciting new products directly from the source at the SCHEELS Exhibit located at the Health and Fitness Expo!

BLEND Kids Expo – 2:00PM – 7:00PM (Friday)

From the young to the young at heart, the BLEND Kids Expo offers fun for the entire family. The expo will be packed with interactive and engaging activities for all ages. Kids will learn how to make physical activity a fun and everyday part of life. The expo also promotes healthy eating; giving families the opportunity to sample healthy foods and learn more about the NuVal Nutritional Scoring System found in all Coborn’s grocery stores.


Saturday in the Fieldhouse:

Vendor Sales: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Coborn’s Post Race Refreshment Area: Coborn’s has graciously supplied all participants with post-race refreshments which will be served inside the Halenbeck Hall Fieldhouse.

Event Start Time: Saturday April 18th, 8:30am

Beginning at SCSU, you’ll take a tour of the best that St. Cloud, MN has to offer.  From tree-lined residential neighborhoods to the Mighty Mississippi River, this USATF certified course will have it all. Don’t forget…..Flat and Fast…..or let’s just call it FLAST!!

SCHEELS Half Marathon Relay

Event Start Time: Saturday April 18th, 8:30am

If you’re not quite ready to tackle 13.1 miles, grab a friend, relative or a complete stranger and take on the Half Marathon route together.   Each of you will contribute 6.5 miles….the hardest part is deciding who gets to see which part of this great course. Divisions include Men, Women and Mixed.


Runner Bag & Shirt from Under Armour

All Runners in the Half Marathon & Half Marathon Relay will receive an Under Armour Cinch Bag & Long-Sleeve Performance Shirt!


St. Cloud Subaru 5k Run/Walk

Event Start Time: Friday April 17th, 6:30pm

A Friday night tradition, the 5K starts and finishes at the campus of SCSU and gives runners and walkers alike the chance to strut their stuff.  Some use it as a warm-up for Saturday’s race, and for others, it is THE race that gets them back into the swing of Spring! This is a great opportunity for first timers and seasoned runners alike!

St. Cloud Subaru 5K Corporate Challenge

Event Start Time: Friday April 17th, 6:30pm

The Earth Day Run and St. Cloud Subaru put together a Corporate Challenge Event in conjunction with 5K Run/Walk on Friday. This event promotes Health and Wellness among area businesses giving them the opportunity to compete against other area businesses and within there own companies. Registration CLOSED


All Runners in the St. Cloud Subaru 5K will receive a  Long-Sleeve Performance Shirt!



BLEND 1K Kids Run

Event Start Time: Friday April 17th, 6:00pm

The BLEND and Coborn’s1K Youth Run is the perfect opportunity for children 12 and under to get out and exercise their rights to a healthy and happy future! Entrants limited to the first 1,000 kids. This is the first race of the BLEND Fit Kids Club Series. The Fit Kids Club gives kids the chance to earn great prizes for participating in fun events throughout Central Minnesota. Viewing The Course

The next best thing to running is watching!  Being “on the course” and cheering on your favorite runner or runners is invaluable to them, and it is easy to do at the Earth Day races.  Your best bet is to hang out at the campus of St. Cloud State to take in the Start and the Finish.

Registration Information


Online registration is CLOSED as of Wednesday April 15th at 5PM.

Late registration for all races will be available at the Capital One Health and Fitness Expo on Friday April 17th. 5K registration is 11:30am – 5:30pm and Half Marathon and Half Marathon Relay is 11:30am – 8:00pm. The late registration booth will be located in the expo.
Late Registration Prices: (Cash or Check Only)
SCHEELS Half Marathon - $75
SCHEELS Half Marathon Relay – $150
St. Cloud Subaru 5K - $50
BLEND and Coborn’s Youth Run – $10.
(No late corporate challenge registration)
Cancellations & Changes

Entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and entries are NON-TRANSFERABLE. No exceptions. Once we receive and accept your entry, you will not receive a refund if you cannot participate. You may not give or sell your number to anyone else, and we do not allow you to transfer your application to the following year. No changing of races allowed after April 7th. No refunds will be issued.  If you plan to transfer up to the Half Marathon you will be required to pay the difference in price between the time you registered and the current race price.

If you are looking to volunteer as a group/organization/company, please contact us at Groups that are looking for fundraising opportunities will be given first priority when signing up. Non-profit groups of 10 or more people will be rewarded with a donation from the Earth Day Run.
