As we turn the calendar to February, the Earth Day Half Marathon is only 80 days away. For those interested in competing in this year’s SCHEELS Half Marathon, our friends at the St. Cloud YMCA are starting a training class on February 7th to get you motivated and moving.
The 11-week class is a great opportunity for new runners to get acclimated to long-distance running and to create a structured training plan leading up to Earth Day Run Weekend. It’s also a great opportunity for experienced runners, so they can take their training to the next level and try to break a personal record in this year’s race.
The class is $100 for current YMCA members and $120 for non-members. It will consist of a structured training plan, meeting two times per week with a fitness professional, strength and conditioning work and team running (either on the treadmill or outside). Classes will meet from 6 to 7 pm every Tuesday and Thursday night leading up to the event, April 21-22.
The goal of the class is not only help you run a half marathon, but to complete it with confidence and strength.
