Volunteer Opportunities at the CentraCare Earth Day Run
Whether you participate as a runner, cheer from the sidelines, or visit the Health and Wellness Expo — there are plenty of ways to enjoy this year’s Earth Day Run events. But did you know there are many volunteer organizations working behind the scenes to make this weekend a success and bring a positive experience to everyone attending the events?
If you are interested in joining a team of dedication volunteers, check this page for a range of opportunities closer to race weekend.
Thank you for your interest in helping us host this GREAT event!
The CentraCare Earth Day Run is managed by a local nonprofit called Active Central MN. All of the events that ACM supports have a need for volunteers. For over 15 years these great events have hired athletic teams, church groups, non-profits, and all sorts of charities to “volunteer” and raise money for their cause by helping at the events. Volunteer groups earn $25 per person per event and sometimes even more! To date, we are proud to say that well over $250,000 has been donated to various groups from all over Central MN!
There are various activities to volunteer for depending on the race, which include the following.
- Registration & Check In
- Set up and tear down
- Handing out racers materials (medals, shirts, and other items)
- Staffing designated points along the course for traffic control, safety, & direction.
- Water stops
With your help, you will aid in making this year’s events a great success!
Attention Students: This is a great opportunity to fulfill your Service-Learning hours. Helping at these events can surely enrich your learning experience, teach civic responsibility, and strengthen our community. Our Race Coordinators will sign documents or e-mail instructors to make sure you get credit for your hours served.
If you have any questions about volunteering please email Larry Stracke at larry@centralmnevents.org
Thank you in advance for your willingness to volunteer!
